PamCham’s tourism committee invited and met with City of San Fernando (P) tourism officer, Ms. Ching Pangilinan and Provincial Tourism head, Mr. Arwin Lingat to discuss possible collaboration with the government to help promote tourism in the province.
The City of San Fernando is now being promoted as a MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events) destination with the construction of world-class events places and hotels, like the LausGroup Event Center, Kingsborough International Convention Center, The Orchids Garden Complex, and the soon to open Best Western Hotel.
Visit to Old Houses, Old Churches and Historic Spots like the Old Train Station are part of the Heritage and Calesa Tours in the province. Kapampangan festivals and events, like the Giant Lantern, Sinukwan, Hot Air Balloon, Ibun-Ebon, Aguman Sanduk, Cutud Lenten Rites, and the year-round town fiestas are among the activities being promoted to visitors by the province. There are also the Cuisine/Culinary Tours which showcases heirloom recipes as well as everyday cuisines. Discussion on Palengke Tourism are also being done.
PamCham committed to encourage its members to help support tourism promotion and also consider offering package rates to tour operators, particularly those in the transport, accommodation and restaurant sectors.
