On February 11, 2025, the newly elected board of PamCham held its inaugural meeting of the year at the boardroom of the Swissotel in Clark, Special Economic Zone.
Prior to the formal proceedings, Mr. Uziel Guthrie D. Naguit, an executive from Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC), delivered a presentation outlining the organization’s future plans for the development of areas within CIAC’s territorial jurisdiction. Among the notable NEDA projects highlighted were the National Food Hub, World Convention & Events Hub, Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation Program, Clark International Aviation Campus, among other.
Present during the pre-board meeting was CIAC’s newly appointed director, Mr. Noel Tulabut, who is also the former chairman of the Pampanga Press Club.
During the official meeting, Chairman Renato “Rene” Romero presided over the discussions, with President Atty. Paulino “Paul” Yusi presenting several proposals for the board’s resolution and approval. One significant proposal was the resolution to establish a five-member PamCham Advisory Board (AB), which will include the immediate past chairman who will serve a two-year term concurrent with the regular board. Additional members will be appointed by invitation, consisting of distinguished business leaders from Pampanga or those with ties to the province, sharing PamCham’s vision and advocacy. The advisory board members will serve in a non-voting capacity.
The first appointment to the AB was Immediate Past Chairman Jesus “Jess” Nicdao, whose recent resignation from the board was accepted with regret.
Vice-Chairman and Director Wilfredo “Willy” Tan, an equally prominent Pampanga businessman and founder of Hausland, also resigned but was succeeded by his son, Atty. Ryan Tan, the CEO of Hausland, who will complete the unexpired term.
Additionally, Mr. Leo Viacrusis, president of Subiccon Corporation, was nominated and subsequently appointed to replace director Jess Nicdao.
The board meeting concluded with full attendance, demonstrating unanimous support for Chairman Romero. The evening wrapped up with a delicious dinner sponsored by Chairman Rene Romero, Vice President Dior Laus and Director Vince Garcia.
