The Provincial Government of Pampanga and PamCham Award Interest-Free Loans to Micro Entrepreneurs

San Fernando, Pampanga – Six micro entrepreneurs received financial support under the Pampanga Loan Assistance Program (PLAP) during a check-awarding ceremony held on March 31, 2025, at the Benigno Aquino Hall, Capitol Compound, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

Each beneficiary was granted a loan of PHP 100,000, payable over 24 months with no interest and no collateral requirements. This initiative, spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Pampanga in partnership with the Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PamCham) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), aims to provide micro entrepreneurs with accessible working capital to help expand their businesses and improve their products and services.

PamCham expressed its gratitude to the Provincial Government of Pampanga for allocating PHP 40 million to fund the loan assistance program, ensuring sustained support for local micro entrepreneurs. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is also a key partner in this initiative, further strengthening efforts to empower small businesses.

Starting January 2025, the program will now grant loan assistance of up to a maximum amount of PHP 500,000. Loan amounts above PHP 100,000 up to the maximum of PHP 500,000 will still be interest-free but will require real estate collateral. Additionally, the payment period for the loan will commence two months after the loan release, providing beneficiaries with ample time to utilize the funds for business growth before repayment begins.

This marks the latest awarding of loan assistance since the program’s launch in July 2024. So far, a total of 47 micro enterprises have benefited from the program, with PamCham looking forward to extending support to more micro entrepreneurs in the future. The program is a significant step towards the empowerment and improvement of micro enterprises, enabling them to grow into small businesses, and eventually transition into medium enterprises.
PamCham emphasized that the loan assistance program is designed to empower micro enterprises, facilitating their growth into small and medium-sized businesses in the near future. By easing financial constraints, the program seeks to strengthen Pampanga’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and contribute to local economic development.

The awarding ceremony highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting grassroots entrepreneurship and fostering sustainable business growth. Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the opportunity, citing the program as a vital boost to their business operations.
PamCham and its partners continue to advocate for initiatives that uplift micro and small enterprises, ensuring they receive the necessary support to thrive and contribute to the province’s economic progress.
